"suggestopedia"

WHAT DID I LIKE FROM MY METHOD?

I like suggestopedia because it helps to teach in an esier way, moreover, students enjoy this method.
teaching a new language, students can exercise their mind. This method make the student to feel comfortable while they are learning. this method is based on the student´s feelings, it is something rare in others methods. Teachers must have to be active, not clonws, because this needs someone who develops in a right way.

If we stimulate the right part of their brains, they will learn more and they are going to know much information than usual. So that, this method requires of songs, music, poetry, books, role-play, and things like those in order to make the student learn better. Also this way allows to acelerate the learning process because students know faster the words we want them to learn, in this case a foreing language.

The expert, Georgi Lozanov, thought that it was much better to work with the feelings of the student more than a simple topic. That means that teacher must have to know how to incorporate this method in a classroom and, how the method works.

WHAT DID NOT I LIKE FROM MY METHOD?
Well, I did not like when teachers have to look for a kind of music that they could like, or they have to ask for money to the principal in order to do the activity. Also it needs a lot of time to prepare an activity, in addition, we need time to incorporate the method in a class. It wastes time in some cases and your students do not learn as much as we want because it is only games and nothig formal.

WHAT I UNDERSTOOD  FROM THE OTHER METHOD:
I think that TPR is a method in which we need a lot of creativity and imagination to share information with the people who learn. It is more thatn a simple listening comprehension because you have to put attention in a special way. It helps us to incorpotate new things in the learning process with the language.I think there is something wrong, students do not have chance to participate and express what they want.

I WANT YOU TO SEE THIS VIDEO. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!!! (SUGGESTOPEDIA)

  1. Hi Rose.

I learned a lot of things with this method. I know that if you want to catch the attention of your students, especially in the kinder-garden, you have to do a lot of things and make a lot of funny activities in order to teach in a successful way the knowledge that you want to transmit. It's nice to do this type of things because you can improve your creativity, and you can improve your relation with your students, also if you transmit to students that the school is not boring and they can have a great time learning there, the attendance will be almost perfect. The hard thing overhere is the ability to change the techniques everytime because it doesn't have to be the same activities all the time. Also, the TPR method, was really nice because the students are more active rather the Suggestopedia, with the TPR they are participating at the time they are learning.
In our country, these methods are not just for kids, they are good also for older learners. I would use it if I have the opportunity to teach before graduating.

    1. hi Deniux!
I am happy to know that you learned about my method. Let me tell you that it will be fun if we know how to teach in an easy way because you share with your students about anything and you learn from them. Also you can help the student if you treat with their personal problems such as: violence.

  2. Hi classmates!
I would like to add my opinion. I think suggestopedia is a really good method, specially with kids, because they are easy to get distracted, and the teacher has to be careful and make activities that catch student´s attention; for that reason, there are techniques that the teacher can use in order to make the class very interesting.
Also, make the student to participate is a good way to improve the learning, for example, using the TPR method could be a good pattern for the students to participate and make them actives at the time of being in class.
These methods can be useful for every person, as Denis said, because no matter the age, also, for adults can be very helpful these methods; because, at the very beginning of learning a language, we are like kids trying to speak and pronoun words.

  3. Hellooooo Rose!!Suggestopedia I think that it a pretty nice method for especially teaching students engilsh because the teacher trys to be creative with their students while the teacher is teaching and, it that way as you said students enjoy and feels comfortable. When they are learning in that way students will put more attention because they are motivate and, they will give an enffort for learning something. Probably catching that information with the long term memory. And, of couse every method have ups and downs but teachers just have to look for the best way to teach :)

  4. Hi Rose!, Suggestopedia is a good method to implement in the classroom with students, because sometimes students get bored in classes, but maybe if teachers try to do activities like you said, role plays, and all those activities, students will feel motivated to learn in classes or at least teachers will call the attention of their students. However, it takes a lot of time, and the teacher has to be sure that they have the neccesary time to do all the activities or if the activities are important for the students.
